Cities of silverlight by 1Rich1 Cities of silverlight by 1Rich1
I've decided it would be a great idea to do something of my own for a change, so here is the first of hopefully many art pieces that I will base in the world of Ocearia. I hope to do many character and vehicle as well as environments and creature designs.
Don't worry though I will be as always, drawing stuff for the games I like. :)

Allright heres the first bit of history and lore for Ocearia.

Two hundred life cycles ago humans arrived on the water world of Ocearia seeking to refuel their starships. The inhabitants of the time witnessed the landing of the silverlight cities. These massive structures gleamed like starlight, landed silently all over Ocearia. As they touched down the people felt great tremors under the ground as the cities began sucking the resources from the very planet itself.
The inhabitants of Ocearia gazed in awe at these cities of glistening silver unaware of the terrifying task they were preforming. The Ocearians finally gathered the courage to enter the cities finding welcoming smiles and exotic goods and flavors.
Trading with the Humans the people of Ocearia believed they had found a new ally in their stuggles.
It was not to be, as the world of of Ocearia began to die the inhabitants suspicions fell on the humans causing mass rioting and war broke out between the humans and the native Ocearians. Several silver cities were overrun and the truth finally became known, Ocearia would soon be a dead world and the humans would move on.
The Ocearians took action launching captured weapons of silver starlight on the human starships, destroying several which showered silverlight debris on the planet. The human starships that were left disappeared leaving many humans trapped on this now hostile dead planet.

Present Ocrearia, the native inhabitants of Ocearia have long lost the ability to use most of the human technology. Rich merchants and mercenaries seek out the remaining humans to use as tech slaves. War is breaking out between many of the city states to control the last of the planets resources as well as political struggles and whispers of rebellion from the human slaves.

In the middle of these imminent problems echos of the past are being felt across the great deserts. Tales of a great silverlight device capable of changing the very fate Ocearia itself!

Thanks for checking it out :)

This is beautiful. I've never seen a futuristic cityscape that looks like this before. It's very unique yet appealing. Makes me wonder what their society is like.

Are you writing a novel? This sounds like it would make a gripping sci-fi series. I love the set up of the story. It sounds like a fascinating world and the conflict is strong enough to make for some excellent character drama.

Thanks haha! I'm trying to create a whole world and this crazy idea popped into my head. I'm glad you like the cities I'm trying to make them as unique as possible I'm trying to get away from the classic sci-fi look thats going around :)

Well, it's really hard to do that but I think you've pulled it off. And I don't say
that lightly...

I was rather intrigued by the concept so far. It's like something out of a weird dream. I actually made a pic with this exact concept a while back...just not to this caliber of artistic genius. I would love to see more of this story. You should even turn it into a novel! :D
As for the artwork, I love the lighting. Definitely a nice desert-ish feel, and the shadows give it great dimension. And the city definitely looks eye catching and spectacular. Make more!
