This is just... absolutely breathtaking. Every time I look at the picture, I see something that I didn't before. This picture has inspired my brain. You, dear artist, have created a marvel that will forever be in my memory.
From what I know of the Snow Elves, they are not blind. Nor is the womer in the picture. It's just their complexions and how their bodies are made up that they appear blind but really are not. Like the Maomer, from what I know of they can see just fine.
Though the way the Artist did this picture it's easy to think she's blind.
He says he could be the last, that there are other possible settlements.
Also, the goblin like Falmer are more likely curse with their crippled bodies, and that this one 'snow elf' is trying to 'repair' the damage.
The Snow elves are like the high elves, and could have taken to their brotheren in secret.
The game only shows so much, but the lore has a lot more information on it. For one, the Falmer Mocked the Nords and attacked them to make the Northern folk leave. However, the Nords are physically stronger and, as you can see, won against the Falmer.
The Falmer that flead to the underground were doomed from the start, like the Dwemer where when they attacked the Heart of Existence.
However they're were colonies that were hidden in the mountains, left alone because the Nords simply did not know of them.
The race nearly face certain death, but remember these elves are in fact a part of the cold as Skyrim is, and I am sure the named was different too. ((I think it was, but I cannot remember the name))
May I use this as a cover/preview for my story on Fanfiction.net? It's about (or will be about) the daughter of the Snow Prince, who's been in a magical sleep in Irkngthand all this time and gets woken up by the events of the Thieve's Guild there.
Goodness xD Yes, of course I will. It's going to happen eventually, haha. It's a story that's eventually going to sprout from my main Skyrim fic and tie into it (events taking place at the same time and all that). Means I have to get there in that fic first though, haha, but <3
Hmmm...should be an image for bittersweet because whenever I see a picture of the Snow-elves before their decent to the Dwemer (Dwarves) it makes me so sad because I know what will happen to them. Betrayed by those they sought help from. I like to think she and others like her fled to the Aldmer in the Summerset Isles or the Bosmer in Valenwood to escape the fate of the Nords and the evil dwarves of Skyrim.
It's awesome! In Skyrim I'm really fascinated with those mysterious snow-elves, who have been reduced to those 'vile Falmer, due to years of subterranean slavery'. I've heard that there will be snow-elves in the new Skyrim DLC. This is just a rumor, but I'm hoping for a whole quest line around the snow elves.
Perhaps it's just me, but when i look at this i somehow picture this Elf as that kind of beautiful girl who's very shy and also feel very close and responsible for you, but is afraid of those on the outside.
I am a rper and I would like to know if I can use the last snow elf painting for a profile pic on a account I have made for skyrim rp about a snow elf who was born looking like the snow elfs of ancient times and got abandoned at ten years of age and was found by a Khajiit Caravan. To get a hold of me got to [link] and you will see I am using the picture as a profile pic for this picture inspired me to make the account. Please message first though because I might not be sure who you are.
I felt the story of the Snow Elves/ Falmer was a very tragic one worthy of good tales. The first victims of Men and the catalyst behind the Men and Mer conflict for centuries later. A full civilization and culture, not inherently 'bad' like the Ayleids were made out to be nor wiped out by Aedric/Daedric interference like the Dwemer, but gone by way of natural ails. Sort of Atlantean in their allure to me.
I do feel they were to blame as they were the reason the 500 returned and wiped the land clean of elves as payment for the Night of Tea rs. I believe if they had open discussion about land claims with the nords the terrible outcome could have been averted. The slaughter of the nord people was an unusual move for the more intelligent elf people.
